ไม้ต้นผลัดใบ สูงถึง 25 เมตร ใบ เป็นใบประกอบแบบ ขนนก มีใบย่อย 2-4 คู่ ใบย่อยคู่บนขนาดใหญ่กว่าคู่ล่าง รูปไข่หรือ แกมรี ปลายใบเรียวแหลม โคนใบไม่สมมาตรถึงทู่ ดอก สีเขียวอ่อน หรือแกมเหลือง ออกเป็นช่อห้อยลงจากปลายกิ่งหรือซอกใบ ยาวถึง 20 ซม. ดอกย่อยขนาดเล็ก กลีบรองดอกรูปไข่ถึงรูป สามเหลี่ยม มี 4-6 กลีบ ไม่มีกลีบดอก เกสรผู้ 5-9 อัน ยาวพ้นกลีบดอก ผล รูปทรงกลมหรือรูปไข่ กว้าง 1.5-2.5 ซม. สีเขียวสดแล้วเปลี่ยน เป็นสีน้ำตาล ปลายผลเป็นติ่งแหลม มี 1-2 เมล็ด
Deciduous tree, up to 25 m high. Leaves pinnate, 2-4 pairs, the upper ones much larger; leaflets ovate to elliptic; base oblique to rounded; apex emarginated, obtuse to shortly acuminate. Inflorescence axillary and terminal panicle, pendulous, up to 20 cm long. Flowers pale green or yellowish-green, minute; calyx 4-6, ovate to deltoid; corolla absent; stamens 5-9, 3 times as long as the sepal. Fruit broadly ovoid to subglobular, apex mucronate, 1.5-2.5 cm across, immature green and turn brown when ripe. Seeds 1-2.

เปลือก ต้มน้ำดื่ม แก้ฝีหนอง ผลสุกรับประทาน มีรสหวานอมเปรี้ยว
Fruits are edible with both a sour and sweet taste. Decoction from the bark is used for the treatment of abscess.
